Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Document Control Specialist to join their client's team in Scotts Valley, California. This role supports the engineering, production, and quality teams by managing product documentation, maintaining accurate records in the MRP system, and ensuring all controlled documents meet internal and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, precise, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Download and manage customer documentation from Agile or other customer portals.
  • Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for quoting activities.
  • Set up commodity-type folders to support materials quoting and sourcing.
  • Cross-reference customer part numbers with internal MFG part numbers.
  • Create new part numbers in accordance with internal standards.
  • Load and maintain Bills of Materials within the MRP system.
  • Process QC and production redlines to ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Create and maintain label files for production use.
  • Process, track, and release Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Document wire lists and maintain revision control.
  • Redline documentation with guidance from Engineering.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong Excel knowledge, including the ability to work with formulas, filters, data organization, and large datasets.
  • Experience in document control, configuration management, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with BOM structures and part numbering systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Agile PLM or similar customer documentation portals.
  • Background in manufacturing or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of ECO processes and revision control best practices.

Salary: $30 per hour
